How import logistics work in Chile, and what your brand should expect.

Chilean import is not particularly complex if you know the rules. The hard part is the documentary detail and the coordination between actors. This page explains the four phases we run for your brand — pre-shipment, transit, clearance and distribution — with the realistic timelines at each step.

What's included

Six operational fronts covered end-to-end.

We cover from coordination with your origin plant to delivery at your end customer. No handoffs between operators, no information loss in the chain.

Origin plant coordination

Shipment planning, document pre-validation and cargo consolidation with your team.

International transport

Sea (FCL/LCL) or air based on urgency. Tariff negotiation with carriers and forwarders.

Customs clearance

Tariff classification, import declaration, duty payment and release.

SAG and SEREMI certification

Inspection management, sampling and resolution for imported food categories.

Certified warehousing

Dry and refrigerated storage in Chile's Metropolitan Region. Unit and pallet picking.

Nationwide distribution

Delivery to end customers from Arica to Magallanes (Chile's full reach). Tariff by zone and volume.

How the operation runs

Four phases. One accountable counterpart.

Each milestone reports back with traceable visibility. No surprises at port, no unexpected delays in warehouse.

Pre-shipment

Plant planning, document pre-validation, carrier space booking, packing instructions.

Transit

Tracking visibility, arrival forecasting, customs broker coordination, document readiness.

Clearance

Import declaration, duty payment, SAG and SEREMI inspection management, release.

Distribution

Warehouse receiving, picking, dispatch coordinated with end customer and delivery confirmation.

How we differ

Three measurable differences.

Importing in Chile is not complex if you know the rules. The hard part is documentary detail and coordination between actors. That's where we add real value.

01 · Lot-level documentary traceability

Each lot has a digital folder with origin, sanitary and labeling certificates. Auditable any time by your HQ.

02 · Committed shipment calendar

We plan with plant and carriers for the next 12 months. Forward visibility on arrivals and projected stock in warehouse.

03 · English-speaking, local-time support

Team in Santiago. No timezone friction with your operation in Chile, no language barrier with your counterparts.

Frequently asked questions

What other importers ask first.

If your question on category or route is not here, write through the contact form.

What product categories do you import?

Primary focus: food, beverages and inputs for the food industry. Also related industrial inputs. We do not operate categories that require deep cold chain (frozen below −18 °C) or pharmaceutical / controlled products.

Do you handle refrigerated cargo?

Yes, refrigerated cargo (between 2 °C and 8 °C) in international transport and certified warehousing. For deep frozen (−18 °C or below) we work with specialized logistics operators as partners, not as direct operation.

How long does Customs clearance take in Chile?

For food without SAG/SEREMI observations, typical clearance takes 3 to 7 business days from port arrival. With additional document review or physical sampling, it can extend to 10–15 days. We pre-validate documentation to minimize this variable.

How do you handle SAG inspections?

We pre-validate all origin documentation before shipment (sanitary, phytosanitary, free-sale certificates). At port, we manage the inspection request and accompany the SAG officer on site. We maintain a 100% documentary approval track record in the categories we operate.

Can you store inventory in certified warehousing?

Yes. We work with SAG- and SEREMI-certified warehouses in Chile's Metropolitan Region, with dry and refrigerated storage capacity. Tariff per pallet/month, unit picking and dispatch coordinated with your end customer.
