Service · Trade advisory

Chile's regulatory landscape · what international manufacturers need to know.

If your company runs its own imports and needs an expert regulatory partner — not a replacement — we work alongside your team on tariff classification, SAG, SEREMI de Salud, Customs, trade agreements and capacity building. The goal is operational autonomy for your team, not dependency on us.

What's included

Six advisory lines, each runnable independently.

Each line operates on fixed fee (point project) or monthly retainer (continuous accompaniment). The scope is agreed in the initial diagnostic.

Tariff classification (HS Code)

Correct partition for tariff minimization and to avoid post-clearance reclassification.

SAG advisory

Animal- and vegetable-origin products: sanitary and phytosanitary certificates, sampling requirements.

SEREMI de Salud advisory

Nutritional labeling, sanitary registration for processed food, cosmetics and hygiene.

Tariff and TLC study

Analysis of applicable trade agreements, certificates of origin and tariff optimization by country.

Pre-shipment documentary audit

Review of all origin documentation before shipment to anticipate rejections at port.

Internal team training

Custom workshops for procurement, foreign trade and quality teams. On-site or remote.

How we work

Four phases. Transferable knowledge.

The objective is not to create dependency: it is to make your team operate better. We document each case and leave internal procedure manuals.

Initial diagnostic

We assess your current regulatory state: documentation, processes, team. No commitment, in a 60-minute session.

Custom regulatory plan

We define scope, calendar, KPIs and deliverables. Per-project or monthly retainer model.

Execution and accompaniment

We implement the plan alongside your team. Present at every critical milestone (SAG submissions, inspections, dispatches).

Documentation and knowledge transfer

Procedure manuals, templates and resolved cases stay with your company. Optional ongoing support.

Who this fits

Three profiles that benefit most.

If your operation fits one of these profiles, let's talk. If you're between two, also: the initial diagnostic is free and serves as evaluation.

Importers

Direct importers

Companies with recurring import operations who need a regulatory expert without hiring in-house.

Brands

Brands evaluating Chile

International manufacturers assessing market entry who need regulatory clarity before committing investment.

Industry

Internal Comex teams

Companies with in-house foreign trade teams looking to deepen knowledge or resolve specific complex cases.

Why Ambiton

Three concrete differences.

We don't sell regulatory theory: we sell resolved cases. Each advisory rests on real operation, not desk consulting.

01 · Deep SAG/SEREMI knowledge

Team with direct experience in submissions, inspections and resolutions. We know the forms and the officers.

02 · Resolved cases in complex categories

Restricted food, cosmetics with regulated ingredients, industrial inputs with special permits. Broad casuistry.

03 · Exhaustive documentation

Each case documented in internal manuals for your company. Knowledge that survives staff rotation.

Frequently asked questions

What companies ask first.

If you have a specific regulatory case, write through the contact form. The 60-minute initial diagnostic is free.

How is this different from the import logistics service?

In trade advisory we don't run the shipment: we transfer the regulatory knowledge so your team can execute it. This is the right service for companies with internal import structure that need an expert partner without being replaced. In import logistics, by contrast, we take over the full end-to-end operation.

Do you advise on categories beyond food?

Primary focus: food, beverages and inputs for the food industry, where we have depth in SAG and SEREMI. We also advise cosmetics, hygiene products and household items. We do not cover pharmaceuticals, registered pesticides or hazardous chemical products.

What if SAG rejects an entry after your advisory?

We cover the discharge management. If the rejection is attributable to a documentary error on our side, we adjust fees. But before that: our pre-validation methodology anticipates 95% of typical rejections. The probability of a SAG rejection in categories we advise is statistically low.

Can you train my internal team?

Yes. We design custom workshops based on role (procurement, foreign trade, quality). On-site in Santiago or remote. Reference material delivered, plus a 90-day continuous support channel after the workshop.

Do you work on fixed fees or per-project?

Both. For point advisory (tariff classification, TLC evaluation, specific procedure) we work per project with closed scope. For continuous accompaniment, monthly retainer with guaranteed hours and quarterly reporting.
